Smart Actions Sub-Tab

The Smart Actions sub-tab on the Smart Elements tab allows you to define the smart actions that are available in the Report Preview window. The options displayed change depending on the value selected in the Smart Action Type field.

The options that are available are in the following list:

• None: Smart actions can be disabled by setting the Smart Action Type field to None. After you select None from this field, there are no smart actions enabled in the Report Preview window and no additional controls are displayed on the Smart Actions sub-tab.

• Column: Smart actions can be enabled for one or more defined fields or columns in the report.

  For example, fields can be made editable or can connect to a Report window or Work Center window. No additional controls are displayed on the Smart Actions sub-tab when Column is selected.

• Row: A single smart action can be defined to occur when a row on the report is clicked. For example, rows can connect to a Report window or Work Center window. Additional options are displayed on the Smart Actions sub-tab when Row is selected.

You cannot set up a report to have both row and column-based smart actions. However, you can have an option for a row and a smart button for the same report.
